Born Nathan Ball in 1984 Ill P grew up in a good Christian home with a family that was very grounded in the word. He accepted Christ at the early age of 9 but by the age of 13 he had started to seriously backslide. At 13 he got involved with several gang members and started drug dealing. From age 13 till 16 he was sneaking out of his house almost every night to go out to Tampa, St. Pete, Largo, and Clearwater to sell his product.

Despite having a cousin in jail for murder and several others in and out of prison for drug dealing and burglary it didn’t faze him. At 16 he lost a very close friend in a gang fight. Instead of waking him up and turning him away from the life he was walking he got deeper in it and ended up joining a gang out of "respect" for his boy.

At 17 he got arrested for possession of marijuana and then again at 18 for possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. He still didn’t turn away from the life he was leading regardless of the consequences. He met Kristin Rosario at 17 and they started dating and got married at 18, she was also involved in the gang. However a few months after they married Kris became pregnant with their first child. For the first time in his life Ill P saw that there was good in him when he first held his daughter Destiny. At that time he decided to rededicate himself to Christ. After several months he started rapping for Christ and since then he has never looked back.
